Best Self-Tanners for Summer

A lot of my San Diego personal training clients have been asking me how I manage to keep my tan year round. I have decided, after much time, to write about my skincare and tanning routine.

I had managed to keep my skin “goth” white until I turned 21 when I started hitting the tanning bed. My Mom always did such a good job at keeping me lathered in sunscreen as a kid. Once I hit the tanning bed though I was instantly hooked.

Having a huge pool in my backyard is tempting.

Now I know that tanning is not healthy, though I sometimes still bask in the outdoor rays. I mostly use self tanners though as I want to protect my skin from visible signs of aging, freckles, and skin cancer.

Here are my favorite self-tanners;

1.) Bare Minerals Faux Tan- Available at bareminerals.com or at your local Bare Escentuals store, this build-able self tanner won’t stain your clothing or streak. Just lather it on and go! No waiting 5-7 hours for the bronzing, it’s instant!Bare minerals
2.) Amber Sun Bronzing Mousse by Norvell- This is only available through tanning supply retailers and is my favorite for a just off the beach glow. It also has a special potion just for faces.

3.) St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse- You can buy this at most beauty supply stores if you are looking for a brown, not orangey glow. At $59 a bottle it will cost you though.

The most important step of all is moisturizer. I use Alba Organics unscented moisturizer after each shower to keep my skin firm and moisturized.

Great ways to moisturize your skin.

I hope these tips lead you on the right path to getting a gorgeous, healthy sunless tan!
